SU has 5 undergraduate, 4 graduate schools, various research centers, and research and academic projects. Each has own admission systems that intend to select the best suitable candidates for respective programs and the academic environment.

一、Non-degree Programs
非学位课程
Non-degree seeking research students are students who conduct research on a designated research theme, under the guidance of a specific instructor, for the purpose of research on specialized subject matter. Non-degree seeking research students cannot acquire credits, or obtain a degree.
Saitama University does not offer a course designed for Japanese language study alone. Thus, before arriving in Japan, students need to acquire sufficient Japanese language skills required for taking classes, and receiving research guidance at the University.
It is important to have clear objectives for studying abroad before arriving in Japan. In addition, in terms of financial planning, such as tuition and living expenses, etc. necessary for your study in Japan, please thoroughly plan before your arrival in Japan, in order to avoid situations where your part-time job, etc. interferes with your studies.
非学位研究型学生指出于特定专题研究目的，在特定指导老师的指导下，从事指定研究课题研究的学生。非学位学生不能获得学分，也不能获得学位。
埼玉大学不单独开设日语语言学习课程。因此，学生在达到日本之前，需要具备足够的上日语课程和接受日语研究指导所需的语言技能。
在到达日本之前，要有清晰的海外学习目标。另外，在达到日本之前，请彻底做好经济计划(比如学费和生活开支)准备，以免到时做兼职影响学业。

c. The research period for non-degree seeking research students is six months. However, if a request for a continuance (extension) is submitted within the designated period, students may be granted an additional six-month extension.

c.非学费研究型学生的研究期限是六个月。但是，如果在规定时间内提交延期请求，可以延期六个月。

Tuition (for six months): 178,200 yen

Credit-Seeking Auditors
Upon screening, credit-seeking auditors may take class subjects established by the Faculties. However, please note that some subjects may not be taken, due to the admission capacity of classrooms, etc., or depending on the Faculty.
Credit-seeking auditors may obtain credits if they pass a course through to the final exam and papers, etc.
Moreover, upon satisfying certain requirements, there is a chance for credit-seeking auditors to be awarded Bachelor’s Degrees by submitting an application to the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation.
Credit-seeking auditors in the Graduate Schools may take class subjects established by the Graduate Schools.
However, depending on the type of course, etc., credit-seeking auditors may not be able to take class subjects, or may not be accepted in some Graduate School courses.
要求拿学分的旁听生
在经过筛选之后，要求拿学分的旁听生可以上各个学院开设的课。但是请注意，由于教室容纳人数有限或学院的规定等原因，某些课不能上。
要求拿学分的旁听生如果通过期末考试、完成相关任务，可以获得学分。
另外，在符合特定要求的基础上，要求拿学分的旁听生可以通过向学术学位和大学评估国家机构提交申请，获得学士学位。
研究生院的要求拿学分的学生，可以上研究生院的课。
但是，由于课程类型等原因，要求拿学分的旁听生也许不能上某些课程，或者不被某些研究生院的课程接受。

二、Exchange Programs

Apply
Open to: Undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at one of our overseas partner institutes.
Exchange students from our partners’ universities will be exempt from tuition, based on corresponding agreements. Once tuition payment is made at your home institute, any other fee is not needed at Saitama.
申请
交换生项目面向当前注册大学与埼玉大学有合作的本科生和研究生开放。
根据相关协议，伙伴大学的交换生免除学费。一旦向所在大学支付学费，就不再需要在埼玉大学支付任何费用。
Qualifications/Requirement
Applicants who meet the following criteria may apply for the exchange program.
1. Undergraduate or graduate students who are currently enrolled at one of our partner institutions as a degree-seeking student.
2. Those who are nominated by the home institution.
You should also check with your home university as to whether they also have any requirements you have to meet in order to be eligible to study abroad.
资格要求

How to Apply
Apply through your university’s study abroad office. All required documents must be submitted from your institute’s international office. Please note that application deadlines may differ; check with your institute about specific application deadlines.
Student Exchange Application Information FALL 2017
Please let us know the number of the students you are planning to send (nominations) for the fall semester 2017 by April 14, 2017. The application deadline is May 15, 2017.
