（1）Tell me about yourself
这个问题是暖场的问题，其实老师看过您的资料了，对您已有所了解。因此这部分就是让候选者不要那么紧张，并且看看口语表达如何，思路是否清晰。您可以挑一些有趣的事情讲讲，但是最好不要超过5分钟。
（2）Why did you decide to pursue a doctoral degreeQ？ Why have you decidedto continue your education？
对于学校来说，招生是个义务。因此学校想知道侯选者求学的目的，去美国求学的动机是什么。候选者应该清楚去美国攻读博士研究生是以研究为目的，要是对理论有所贡献。
（3）Why did you choose to apply to our program？ What attracted you to thisgraduate program？
相信每个候选者都会申请多个学校，因此学校想知道候选都对我们学校和院系的了解程度，并且看看候选者希望从学校学到什么。
（4）What other schools are you considering？
这个问题不一定问，但有时候想要了解候选者是否因为地理、家庭等因素影响选择时，可能会委婉的问一下。
（5）What do you know about our program？
这个问题也不一琮会问，但候选者如果对于学校的program不了解的话，可能会问问，看是我们是否没给候选者机会回答这个问题。
（6）What courses in our program interest you？
这个问题的回答也很简单，主要是看候选者有没有做足功课。但是要注意，这个问题虽然好回答，但是最好能与您的研究、未来发展方向联系起来。这样可以在简单的答案中，表现出了您做足了准备和规划。另外，据tops老师了解，美国的课程是按照100、200、800、900这样来评分的，800以上的才是研究生课程。因此不要在回答这个问题的时候，列举出来的课程都是大学课程。
（7）What do you expect to gain from these studies？
如果前面没有特别说这个点的话，后面会特别的问一下。基本上希望候选者说说知识与研究方法上的训练。
（8）In what ways have your previous experience prepared you for graduatestudy in our program？
这个问题不一定要问，但是有时候候选者在录取边缘的时候，可能会特别问一下这个问题，看是不是有其它地方没有考虑到的

最近有同学去面试博后，回来聊天时交流了一下，如果有未来打算考博的朋友觉得有用可以看看参考下。下面出国留学网来说说美国留学博士面试经验总结。
1、关于 presentation 的内容，逻辑性、创新性应该在你写论文的时候都总结过了，不用赘述。如果前期的工作不一定完全与未来课题组的方向一致，可以尝试着重展示你所拥有的技能，比如你会基础的分子生物学操作、会设计 siRNA、会数据分析、会设计行为学实验等，尤其那些对未来课题的顺利实施很有用的技术。
2、关于提问和回答，理性地回答问题就好，不要掺杂个人感情。面试官的问题不尽相同，有几个可能会经常被问到的问题如下：
⑴如果你来了想做什么?
不要回答“想要博士学位”，不要回答很具体的内容，比如研究某某通路、某某蛋白，回答得宽泛一些，给自己也有回旋余地。
⑵评价一下你之前的工作?
这个问题当时遇到了两个让老师满脸黑线的回答：a. 哎~这个课题老板让我做的，之前师姐的结果重复不出来，所以进行得也不顺利;b. 这个课题当时我设计的，相当有前景，但是老板不懂，没有支持我继续做。
首先，谈自己的工作，贬低别人纯属无事生非;其次，即使你当年跟老板撕破脸才毕业的，在未来导师面前也绝不要提及，烂在肚子里，毕竟面试不是吐槽大会。
老师回来给我的建议回答方式是：这个工作，做了肯定是有意义的，balabala……当然也有一定的缺陷，后期我在更广泛的学习之后，认为有哪些点可以继续深入讨论，比如 balabala……回答的重点在于体现你“勤于思考”。
⑶你为什么要到我这里来?
尤其有一些老板比较年轻，比如刚回国，国内名气也不是很大的，或者之前工作很出色但是最近几年都没什么成果的，所以你为啥要选他们。这个真的是不同的老板想要的答案大不相同，主要就是不要贬低前老板、不要贬低前同事、不要贬低自己，建议表现出自己的一股想要做成一些事情的干劲，积极乐观向上的态度。
3、关于适时结束谈话
这个一般好像不会有问题，想到这个是因为真的有一位小哥，老师好几次想结束谈话，而他还在侃侃而谈，搞得大家只能尴尬而不失礼貌地微笑。

首先，在美国博士申请面试中遇到突发问题或者奇葩问题，美国博士申请者在态度上应当保持冷静和淡定。千万不要在不知道如何应答的情况下，盲目做答或者语无伦次的乱答。如果听懂了但不知道如何作答或者面对面试官问的问题比较生疏，那么可以从容的要求面试官重复一遍问题，或者通过反问一遍你理解的问题的意思以增加自己的思考时间，同时创造更多与面试官对话的机会。
其次，在美国博士面试中遇到突发问题没想好时或者不能快速作答时，你也可以大方得体的要求面试官给与你一些思考的时间，让你能充分的去组织思路和语言。
