一、题型简介
选词填空是阅读理解的第一个part——Section A，题目形式为15选10，分值占比5%，按100分算的话，2题才1分。按总分710来折算，选词填空总分35.5分，是整张试卷上题型最低的分值。
最新四六级考试大纲里指出，“选词填空要求考生阅读一篇删去若干词汇的短文，然后从所给的选项中选择正确的词汇填空，使短文复原。”选词填空篇章长度四级为200-250词，六级为250-300词。再来看考场要求做题时间。阅读理解3个题型(1篇选词+1篇长篇+2篇仔细阅读)要求40分钟完成。
仔细阅读一共10题，且每题2分(最重要)，长篇阅读10题(每题1分)，选词填空也是10个空。所有题目不看分值，平均每题也只有不到1.5分钟的做题时间。如果先做仔细阅读和长篇阅读，留给选词填空的做题时间就更短。这就要求大家在掌握一定词汇和语法的基础上，巧用考试技巧解题。
二、做题步骤
第一步：快速浏览全文，迅速把握文章大意，带着文章脉络去找选项。
敲小黑板注意：通读不是随便看一遍，是有技巧有目的的。
扫读各段段首句，务必看懂第一句。
选词填空第1句是不会出题的，一般第一句对全文起概括、提示的重要作用。因此，务必认真理解。注意空格前后内容，为寻找正确选项做铺垫 。然后，冷静地通读文章一遍，尤其注意空格前后的位置，为筛选正确选项寻找蛛丝马迹。
第二步：区分整理选项。
标出15个选项的词性，名词标写n, 动词要细分标写为v,v-ing.,v-ed等等。动词归类要细分为v，ved, ving。因为一个空可以填动词，但填什么形态要根据实际语法时态判断。
四六级选词填空只考实词中的四种：名词n做主语和宾语, 动词v做谓语，形容词adj做定语，副词adv做状语。代词、数词、虚词(包括冠词、介词、连词、感叹词)是不考的，不会出现在选项里。所以，选项单词有六大类词性：n.,v.,adj.,adv.,v-ing.,v-ed。
一般四六级的选词填空，选项可以参考如下特点：
15个选项=
3个动词正确答案+1个动词干扰答案、
3个名词正确答案+1个名词干扰答案、
3个形容词正确答案+2个形容词干扰答案、
1个副词正确答案+1个副词干扰答案。
这是根据历年真题统计，总结出来的大致规律。
当然，四六级近年考试越来越反套路，有时考查方式和上面的总结也不完全一致，选项特点仅供大家参考。
一般来说，选词填空要填的10个空里，动词都是考3个。
另外三种词性，一般2～4个。四种实词中，考的最少的是副词adv, 不超过两个空。剩下的三种平均每次有三道题。
标注词性时，一般通过后缀来判断。
