Bertha Mason is the insane wife of Rochester. In precise contrast to the angelic Helen, Bertha is big, as big as Rochester, corpulent, florid, and violent. Much of Bertha’s dehumanization, Rochester’s account makes clear, is the result of her confinement, not its cause. After ten years of imprisonment, Bertha has become a caged beast (Showalter 73).
As Bronfen states, “where Helen ‘fed’ off her dead ancestors, Bertha feeds off the living, bites and draws blood from her brother, repeatedly threatens the life of her husband, and embodies a return of what they would like to repress” (200). Bertha can be seen as Jane’s darkest double, as her ferocious secret self, who appears whenever an experience of anger or fear arises on Jane’s part that must again be repressed (“Jane Eyre” 167).
Acting for and like Jane, she enacts the violence Jane would like to but can’t express, especially in respect to marriage. She also articulates Jane’s fears and desires about her own mortality (Bronfen 200).
There are multiple themes in Jane Eyre. One of the main themes is the need for love contrasting with the need for independence. As a Bildungsroman, Jane Eyre is the story of Jane’s striving for independence, struggling with passion, and finally growing into maturity.

读完全书后，我从伊利莎白的爱情婚姻中明白，她的婚姻既是理性的选择又有深厚的感情基础。伊丽莎白自身上体现着婚姻的真正价值和时代追求。伊丽莎白对达西先后几次求婚的不同态度。
实际上反映女性对人格独立和平等权利的追求。面对情感，她保持了做人的尊严体现了思想和理性的力量;面对现实，敢于面对阻挠她的一切力量勇敢地捍卫了自己高尚纯洁的爱情。尤其值得敬佩的是她坚持男女双方的真挚感情是缔结理想婚姻的基石，反对为了财产、金钱和地位而结婚。这在当时妇女处于无权地位把婚姻当作己唯一出路的社会是极具进步意义的。
这对我们现代女性的婚姻观和恋爱观同样有着借鉴的作用。在现在物欲横流的社会里女性在遇到像达西一样的“高富帅”的时候是疯狂地趋之若鹜、还是偏激地敬而远之亦或是平淡地正常对待;在恋人相处时遇到摩擦的时候，是否能够自我反省，认识自我，改变自我，让自己的爱情走的更长远呢?
面对婚姻的选择时，是追求因金钱而结合的婚姻，还是享受因爱情而结合的婚姻，同样是值得思考的。因此在读完《傲慢与偏见》后我对于如何面对与选择爱情与婚姻有了一些启发!

雾都孤儿这本世界名著讲述了一个动人的故事。书中主人翁是一位孤儿，他的名字叫奥利弗特威斯特。他出生于济贫院，出生不久妈妈就死了。他被当作一件物品送来送去，受尽折磨。他最后遇到了一位善良的老先生;布郎罗先生，这位先生好心收留了他，他过上了好的生活。可好景不长，奥利弗不幸在次身陷贼窟，赛克斯胁迫他参加一次远征行窃，最后失败了，挣扎在死亡线上，还是梅里夫人救了奥利弗并且好心收留了他。经过一段时间，奥利弗过上了幸福的生活。
读完这本书，我心中久久不能平息。可怜的奥利弗，在已经失去家人的痛苦下还受到这么多折磨。真不知道他瘦弱的躯体下，有着怎样的意志，能使他坚持不懈，使他在饥饿、寒冷、孤独、痛苦下顽强的斗争，向美好生活前进!
我们生活在密罐里，福窝里，却总是抱怨，总是不满足。但我们可曾经想过，在世界上，还有多少孩子，正承受着巨大的痛苦;正在和饥饿、疾病作战;正面对着失去亲人，漂泊流浪的生活。他们充满着对生命的渴望，对生命的热爱，可是苦难和他们作对。所以，我们现在要珍惜自己的幸福，用我们的双手和大脑，做一个对祖国有用的人，来回报社会。
也许你会觉得奇怪，为什么那个虚假的人，会让我觉得记忆犹新?也许正是因为他的虚假吧。他拥有英俊的外表，可内心却不堪入目。在所有的人面前，他戴这一张厚厚的面具——优雅的举止、讨人喜欢的谈吐，这几乎蒙蔽了所有人。你可以认为这是他的一种能耐，但换一个角度来想想，会怎么样呢?
